Day 7. One week in.

One week, no solid food! And I still feel great. Plus, I start my new job today. Meaning an income and new people to meet!

So starting this morning, I began having cramps, even before the morning laxative tea. It feels like the bad stuff is starting to go, but not comfortably. I drank alot of ginger tea today, as well as some red raspberry leaf. I also drank some yerba mate after some morning errands on my bike, but I didn't have any memorable caffeine reactions. During this week, I've been drinking an assortment of loose herbs in my tea scoop. I'll list all of them at a later time.

I've been thinking alot about food today. Mostly fresh vegetables, and for some reason I have re-occuring fantasies of couscous with quinoa cooked in vegetable broth. Definitely on the list for my first dinner. It was even worse at work today. It's difficult cutting warm apple strudel and having to turn down a slice. But, like it's been all week, it feels empowering to not do so.

I noticed my midsection being nice and lean today. Normally, the only place I ever put on weight is my stomach and love handles, which gets awkward those rare times when I'm out of shape. My torso is as trim as it was when I was playing volleyball, except not as much muscle tone. I'll work on that. I'm still at 125, so I'm not worried about this change in figure.

Thankfully, everyone at my new job is cool with my cleanse, one's even tried something similar. It's nice to not have to hide it from new people, not to mention having confrontations with ignorance. Before work, I juiced 3 lemon halves and mixed it with maple syrup and kept it in a container. The book explains that if you can't make your lemonade fresh, you can create a concentrate that keeps the enzymes active by mixing the lemon juice and syrup. I carried the cayenne in a little jar, and mixed 2 glasses while at work.

On the way home, I got lost walking and ended up taking an hour and a half to get home! (as opposed to 10 minutes...). At least I know it's safe to walk around at night. Even though I probably should have mixed another glass before bed, I only made some senna and chamomile tea and went to bed hungry.
