Day 5. On-looker.

So because I read triathlon athletes train while on the strict master cleanse diet, I decided it's not worth it to drink the protein powder. Sure, I've had to cut back on intense busy days, but I know even powdered protein causes your digestive system to start working again when you're supposed to be shutting it completely down during the cleanse. I did the salt water bath in the morning, and drank two glasses of lemonade before running some errands.

Today I bought some organic black molasses, as I heard this was another mineral-filled glucose contributor. I made a glass of 1-to-1 molasses to agave and almost yacked it was so gross! I really don't think I'm going to try it again. It was worse than drinking warm salty water! I threw half of it away.

I had an interesting trip to the natural food store today to buy some toothpaste. I explored all of the aisles, feeling more like an observer than an active participant in what was going on around me. Although I was scheming tons of bulk recipes to try once my cleanse is over, I wasn't craving anything. It feels so empowering.

I went for a bike ride on my NEW BIKE (probably got ripped off for it but it works and I don't have to walk everywhere) for 20 minutes. I felt totally awesome tearing up the steep hills in first gear. I've had about 5 glasses so far, and I'll probably have another 3 (depending how hard I run when the sun goes down). I feel really active and awesome still. I keep reading about depression kicking in during the middle of the cleanse. There are some mornings when I feel sluggish and unmotivated, but other than that I've felt nothing but overwhelmingly alive and healthy.

Time to make more lemonade and go for a run! :)
